Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Direct comprehensive physical therapy assessments for orthopedic patients, designing tailored treatment plans to optimize recovery and enhance physical capabilities.
• Supervise and provide clear guidance to Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring adherence to established care plans and effective implementation of therapeutic interventions.
• Utilize clinically validated tests to evaluate muscle strength, joint function, and overall physical abilities of clients, making informed decisions regarding their rehabilitative needs.
• Conduct detailed evaluations of patient home environments to identify barriers to mobility and independence, recommending adaptive equipment and modifications as necessary.
• Administer prescribed therapies, such as manual exercises, traction, and modalities to alleviate pain and promote healing, while regularly updating treatment approaches based on patient responses.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, including initial assessments, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with OASIS and agency policies.
• Engage actively in case conferences, contributing insights and recommendations to interdisciplinary team discussions to ensure comprehensive treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their families on the use of therapy devices and overall physical therapy programs, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
• Stay accessible to Physical Therapy Assistants when they provide treatments, ensuring quality assurance and support for optimal patient outcomes.
• Complete additional assigned tasks that align with the company's objectives to enhance overall service delivery and patient satisfaction.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, chronic pain conditions, or sports-related injuries. Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) with a valid state license to practice.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in physical therapy, preferably with a focus on orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications for documentation and scheduling.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience is required, candidates with specialized training or certifications in orthopedic physical therapy, sports medicine, or geriatric care will be highly regarded.
