Parkland Health and Hospital PC is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our vibrant team in Yonkers, New York. Work Environment

The Nurse Practitioner role is located onsite within a school facility, facilitating convenient access to healthcare for students and staff. The position involves a standard workweek of 40 hours from Monday to Friday, concluding at 5:00 PM. This consistent schedule allows for a balanced work-life balance while immersing yourself in the daily health needs of students. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patients’ medical histories to assess their health status.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and X-rays, to ensure accurate health assessments.
• Diagnose acute and chronic health conditions, formulating personalized treatment plans for each patient.
• Prescribe medications as necessary and monitor patients’ responses to prescriptions, making adjustments as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and documentation standards.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care practices.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, leveraging a team-based approach to improve patient outcomes.
• Participate in community health initiatives and educational programs to promote healthy living among students.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, pursuing knowledge in healthcare trends and best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses primarily on the student population within a school environment, addressing a range of health issues from routine check-ups to urgent care needs. You will be tasked with fostering health education around topics such as disease prevention, nutrition, and physical fitness—impacting not just individual health, but also contributing to the holistic well-being of the student body.

Qualifications

• A valid Nurse Practitioner license in the State of New York.
• A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Family or Adult Primary Care.
• ANP/FNP certification is required.
• A valid DEA number is necessary for prescribing medications.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families.
• Strong ethical standards and a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively in fast-paced situations.
• Experience in primary care, acute care, or pediatrics is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

• Prior work experience in school healthcare or community health settings is an asset.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, although it is not a requirement.

Compensation and Benefits

Parkland Health offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to USD 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to financial remuneration, we provide a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
