Work Environment

The position is full-time and operates onsite within our hospital facility. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration while ensuring optimal patient support during the week.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including obtaining detailed medical histories, performing physical examinations, and documenting findings in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Provide preventive health services through well visits, health screenings, and immunizations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pain conditions, formulating tailored treatment plans that may include medication management, physical therapy referrals, and patient education.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests or imaging studies, effectively responding to results that may require additional evaluation.
• Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare professionals for multidisciplinary care options, ensuring streamlined patient referrals and continuity of care.
• Advise patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and lifestyle choices impacting their pain management and overall well-being.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population ranging from young children to adults, all seeking relief from various pain conditions. You will specifically address the needs of patients with acute injuries, chronic pain syndromes, and those rehabilitating from surgical procedures. Delivering compassionate care and establishing trusting relationships is paramount in supporting your patients' journey toward wellness.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Active licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a Pain Management setting or relevant specialty.
• Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize patient needs effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for engaging with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pain management or a related field, with exposure to various pain management therapies and interventions.
• Demonstrated capability in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for patient documentation and management.
• Background in coordinating care with multiple healthcare providers and specialists.

Compensation and Benefits
