Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art surgical center, located in the vibrant New City area of New York. As a Physician Assistant, you will be working closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff in a fast-paced yet supportive environment. The center is designed to foster teamwork and effective communication, enhancing overall patient care. This position operates on a structured schedule, from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed evaluations of patients presenting with various pain conditions, utilizing advanced assessment techniques.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans by collaborating with patients to set realistic treatment goals based on their needs and lifestyle.
• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging studies to aid in the diagnosis and management of pain-related conditions.
• Prescribe appropriate non-narcotic medications, and coordinate physical therapy options to enhance recovery and mobility.
• Schedule and assist with interventional procedures, ensuring all necessary preparations are completed.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in patient charts to reflect current treatment plans and patient outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Address patient inquiries and concerns promptly, providing education about their conditions and treatment options.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to improve patient experiences and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant in this role will primarily engage with patients experiencing chronic pain, including but not limited to those suffering from back pain, arthritis, nerve pain, and post-surgical pain. Our patient population is diverse, spanning all age groups and backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on respecting their individual treatment preferences and promoting holistic healing approaches.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Strong foundational knowledge in pain management techniques and treatment protocols.
• Proficiency in performing physical examinations and making clinically informed decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and the healthcare team.
• A commitment to providing patient-centered care with a focus on empathy and understanding.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Pain Management or a related specialty.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate patient documentation and coordination of care.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a medical team.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 150,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
