Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examinations, to evaluate their pain conditions and overall health.
• Document patient encounters and clinical information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systematically and accurately, ensuring compliance with legal and healthcare standards.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tools to guide treatment decisions effectively.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, including medication management and referrals for physical therapy or other services.
• Engage in consultations with supervising physicians for complex cases to ensure the highest quality of patient care based on assessment findings.
• Handle patient inquiries and complete necessary documentation, such as forms and follow-up on phone calls, to maintain continuity of care and foster patient satisfaction.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on patients suffering from a variety of pain management issues, including but not limited to chronic pain, post-surgical pain, and complex pain syndromes. As a Physician Assistant in our Pain Management department, you will support patients in navigating their pain treatment journey, emphasizing both physical and emotional health. You will work collaboratively to empower patients in understanding their conditions and participating in their care plans.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• An active Physician Assistant license in the state of New York.
• At least two years of relevant clinical experience, preferably within a primary care or pain management setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in performing clinical assessments and interpreting diagnostic results.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster trusting relationships with patients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits
