Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Directing physical therapy treatment focused on alleviating pain, restoring functionality, and enhancing the patient's overall physical performance according to individualized care plans.
• Collaborating with physical therapy assistants to ensure that treatment objectives are met and the plan of care is executed effectively.
• Performing comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' functional abilities, utilizing a variety of diagnostic and prognostic tests for muscle, nerve, and joint performance.
• Conducting home environment assessments to recommend adjustments that foster independence and enhance rehabilitation effectiveness.
• Providing physical therapy services in accordance with physician prescriptions, administering therapeutic exercises and treatments, including traction and massage to promote healing and recovery.
• Evaluating, fitting, and adjusting any necessary prosthetic or orthotic devices, while offering feedback to physicians on recommended modifications.
• Contributing to the ongoing development and adjustments of care plans based on patient progress and outcomes.
• Documenting progress through clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries, while participating actively in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Educating patients and their families about the use and care of physical therapy devices, as well as facilitating understanding of the overall treatment program.
• Completing all documentation and billing procedures in a timely manner in accordance with clinic policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will work primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, traumatic injuries, and degenerative conditions affecting mobility. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
