This position is remote, offering you the flexibility to manage your schedule while maintaining accountability for client outcomes. Although primarily virtual, our counselors utilize a modern outpatient office framework that is backed by robust technological support, ensuring seamless communication and access to vital resources. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is facilitated through electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, empowering our counselors to deliver integrated care effectively.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, documenting patient cases from the first consultation to the conclusion of treatment.
\n
• Create tailored treatment plans that address the unique mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques and interventions suited to each client's needs.
\n
• Regularly monitor and assess client progress throughout the treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive treatment approaches.
\n
• Maintain effective communication with attending physicians for clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
\n
• Identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder client recovery, providing proactive guidance and support.
\n
• Engage with family members and primary caregivers, offering strategies to manage mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals and families dealing with a range of mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to more complex emotional challenges. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your expertise will be crucial in creating recovery-oriented plans tailored to various demographics, ensuring culturally competent and individualized support.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated prior experience as a mental health counselor with a track record of effective client outcomes.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.

• Experience addressing co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions as well as addiction disorders.
\n
• In-depth understanding of prescription drug impacts as vouched by medical professionals.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, showcasing a sympathetic nature with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
