Work Environment

The position is primarily onsite, involving direct patient interaction in their homes. You will join a collaborative environment of healthcare professionals dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients through rehabilitative care. As part of a small team of two physical therapists and a physical therapist assistant (PTA), you will work closely with your colleagues to develop comprehensive treatment plans that align with best practices within the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and recognize the rehabilitation goals and needs of every patient.
• Maintain a manageable patient load of one individual per hour to ensure personalized attention and care.
• Implement tailored treatment strategies, utilizing a range of manual therapy techniques and exercise regimens.
• Design and propose cost-effective treatments aimed at enhancing mobility while decreasing reliance on medications.
• Minimize surgical interventions through effective non-surgical methods, aiming to improve patients' overall functioning.
• Develop individualized care plans incorporating various therapeutic modalities and ensure patients understand and actively participate in their rehabilitation process.
• Monitor patient progress, evaluating the effectiveness of treatment and adjusting plans as necessary.
• Document all services provided to track patient care and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care effectively.
• Motivate and support patients in achieving their wellness and fitness goals, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice is primarily focused on patients with private medical insurance, specifically catering to those requiring orthopedic rehabilitation. You will have the ability to work with a diverse patient population that may include post-operative recovery cases, individuals with chronic pain, and those seeking to improve their physical capabilities for various activities of daily living.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
• Possess an active Physical Therapist license in California with no disciplinary actions against it.
• At least two years of experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in an orthopedic outpatient or home care setting.
• Strong knowledge and practical skills in manual therapy techniques and designing exercise programs tailored to patient needs.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT.
• Excellent communication skills to foster positive patient interactions and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate patients through their rehabilitation journey.
• Prior experience in home healthcare settings is advantageous.
• Expertise in creating customized fitness and wellness programs that address patient-specific requirements.
