Work Environment

This role is primarily onsite, allowing you to engage directly with patients in their homes, delivering tailored therapy in a comfortable and familiar setting. You will be part of a supportive team that includes two physical therapists and one physical therapist assistant (PTA). Our clinic environment encourages continuous learning and dialogue among healthcare professionals, ensuring we stay updated on the latest therapeutic techniques and treatment methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and identify patients' functional limitations and rehabilitation needs through detailed examinations and medical history reviews.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and treatment protocols that encompass various physical therapy techniques, manual therapy, and patient education.
• Manage a caseload of patients, typically seeing one patient per hour, ensuring personalized attention to each individual's therapeutic requirements.
• Utilize a variety of evidence-based interventions aimed at reducing pain, enhancing mobility, and facilitating the restoration of physical function.
• Maintain clear and thorough records of patient progress, response to treatments, and any adjustments to care plans, using EMR software such as WebPT.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, discussing patient progress and treatment outcomes in regular team meetings to align on best practices.
• Encourage patients throughout their therapy sessions, employing motivational strategies to enhance their engagement and commitment to recovery.
• Document all patient care services provided and ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements and professional standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions affecting their musculoskeletal health. You will provide care to a diverse patient demographic, ensuring that each treatment plan is culturally sensitive and considers individual patient goals, lifestyles, and needs. As our patient base grows, your innovative methods and compassionate approach will be pivotal in improving their rehabilitation experiences.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in California is required.
• Candidates should have a clean professional record, free from board or any disciplinary actions.
• Strong proficiency in manual therapy techniques and a solid understanding of therapeutic exercise formulation are essential.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, is highly valued.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective exercise protocols specific to orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Experience in providing home health therapy services is an added advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
