Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive, trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients’ trauma histories and establish appropriate therapeutic approaches.

• Developing and monitoring individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience, and overall mental well-being.

• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, utilizing modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions that empower clients to process their trauma experiences and cultivate effective coping strategies.

• Working collaboratively with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure integrated care with a holistic approach.

• Providing timely crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies.

• Educating clients and their families about the effects of trauma, coping mechanisms, and available resources to foster a better understanding of their situation.

• Maintaining detailed and confidential electronic documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engaging in ongoing professional development through case consultations, team meetings, and staying abreast of the latest research in trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary client base includes individuals grappling with trauma-related disorders. We see a diverse array of patients, from those recovering from single-event traumas to individuals dealing with complex, ongoing trauma, ensuring that all who seek help are provided with respect and understanding in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications\n

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in New Jersey.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a counseling context, particularly within trauma-related care.
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
\n
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations to provide effective support.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.

• A commitment to collaborative practice within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While two years of experience is the minimum requirement, candidates with experience delivering trauma-focused treatments and engaging patients in a remote setting will stand out. Additionally, familiarity with current best practices in trauma therapy will be highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include:
