Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial evaluations for patients presenting with personal injuries, assessing their medical history and current health status.
• Prescribe and manage treatment plans, including medications such as NSAIDs, muscle relaxers, and topical anesthetics, to alleviate pain and promote recovery.
• Order and interpret MRI scans, ensuring accurate diagnoses and timely referrals for further treatment when necessary.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to facilitate remote consultations, expanding access to care and enhancing the patient experience.
• Coordinate referrals to physical therapy and pain management specialists, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient recovery.
• Maintain patient medical records with high attention to detail to comply with HIPAA regulations and best practices in medical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including surgeons and rehabilitation specialists to ensure comprehensive and high-quality patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will interact with a diverse range of patients presenting with various conditions, primarily associated with pain management and rehabilitation following surgical procedures. Your compassionate communication style and ability to create a reassuring environment will be essential in fostering trust and support for patients as they navigate their treatment journeys.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license to practice in the state of New York.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, and a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is highly preferred.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant from a nationally recognized certifying body is mandatory.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation practices is essential for maintaining accurate patient records.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills are crucial for effective communication with patients and collaborative work with healthcare team members.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with at least 2 years of experience in pain management or related fields will be preferred. Familiarity with surgical procedures and post-operative care will enhance your effectiveness in this role and contribute to better patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits
