Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by taking detailed medical histories, performing physical examinations, and executing diagnostic evaluations aimed at understanding each patient's unique pain management needs.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, ensuring that care is tailored to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform various procedures and minor surgical interventions, such as joint injections and nerve blocks, under the guidance and supervision of attending physicians to alleviate patient discomfort.
• Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and necessary lifestyle changes, empowering them to take an active role in their healthcare journey.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring comprehensive documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care to facilitate continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The physician assistant in this role will work closely with a varied patient population, including those dealing with acute and chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, back pain, and post-surgical pain. Your clinical expertise will be critical in assessing and addressing patients' concerns, ultimately guiding treatment decisions that significantly improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• State licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Strong clinical skills, with the ability to work independently within the established scope of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for establishing rapport with patients, families, and team members.
• A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that prioritizes patient needs and concerns.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a pain management setting is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $160,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
