Work Environment

This role is office-based within our state-of-the-art surgical center located in Valley Stream, New York. Working closely with orthopedic surgeons, surgical teams, and nursing staff, the PA will engage in a collaborative approach to deliver top-tier musculoskeletal care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive orthopedic care through advanced practitioner assessments and procedures, ensuring all care complies with established industry standards and protocols.
• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including the interpretation of diagnostic imaging reports and laboratory results to formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
• Perform detailed patient histories, assist in surgical procedures, and manage the prescribing of medications, therapies, and rehabilitation plans.
• Facilitate all-often urgent clinical decisions while managing patient care through inpatient services, providing consultations, pre-procedural evaluations, and detailed follow-up care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Engage in continuous monitoring of patients post-procedure, addressing any complications with urgency and attentiveness.
• Actively participate in team meetings, contribute to ongoing clinical education sessions, and collaborate on departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve patients with musculoskeletal disorders, including a wide range of orthopedic conditions requiring urgent and elective surgical procedures. Your expertise will aid in the timely assessment and management of patients experiencing acute injuries, chronic pain issues, and debilitating conditions. You will be integral in providing high-quality, empathetic care that transforms the patient experience and supports their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in the orthopedic specialty.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program; candidates with a Master’s degree or a PhD are highly encouraged to apply.
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant and national certification from an accredited body.
• Possession of a DEA Certificate within three months of hire.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in relatable terms.
• Strong organizational skills and decision-making aptitude under pressure, especially in high-stress scenarios.
• Physical ability to lift 25 pounds and perform tasks essential to patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in wound care management and the ability to handle urgent referrals effectively.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and familiarity with billing and hospital credentialing processes.
• Demonstrated capacity to work in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing clinical demands.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 160,000 to $200,000, commensurate with experience.
