Work Environment

In this role, you will work in a state-of-the-art Surgical Center that is designed to facilitate advanced surgical procedures while maintaining a welcoming environment for our patients. You will collaborate closely with five other physicians and five nurse practitioners, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere where knowledge is shared, and patient care is prioritized. The practice operates Monday through Friday, with hours scheduled from 5 AM to 5 PM, allowing ample opportunity for work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assess patient history to inform diagnosis.
• Order and analyze diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies, to identify health issues.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, developing tailored treatment plans for each patient's needs.
• Prescribe medications and implement therapeutic plans to ensure optimal patient care.
• Document patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with established protocols.
• Educate patients and their family members about health conditions, treatment options, and disease prevention strategies.
• Facilitate cooperative relationships with healthcare team members, contributing to multi-disciplinary treatment plans.
• Engage in ongoing learning to advance clinical expertise and integrate best practices into patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population at our Surgical Center includes a diverse array of individuals seeking both routine and specialized care. As a Physician Assistant, you will address various health concerns, focusing particularly on patients requiring surgical interventions or follow-up care. Your role will be integral in empowering patients through education, promoting preventive measures, and involving them actively in their health journey.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Current Physician Assistant license in New York State and certification as a PA-C (Certified Physician Assistant).
• Must possess a valid DEA registration number to prescribe medications.
• At least two years of experience as a Physician Assistant, ideally in primary care or a surgical setting.
• In-depth knowledge of patient care regulations and clinical practices.
• Exceptional communication skills, strong ethics, and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and patience in high-pressure environments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in specialties such as internal medicine, family health, or urgent care is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
