Work Environment

This full-time, onsite position operates primarily in a surgical center. You will work Monday through Friday, with a 5:00 PM shift, totaling 40 hours per week. The surgical center is designed to facilitate a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach aimed at delivering continuous and effective care throughout the patient's surgical experience. Your colleagues will include nurses, surgical technicians, and other specialists, ensuring that you are always supported in delivering the best care possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations, assessing patient history and current health status.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies, to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions, leveraging your training in family medicine.
• Develop personalized treatment plans, specifically for chronic and infectious diseases, while ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Prescribe medications, monitor treatment responses closely, and adjust prescriptions as necessary based on patient feedback and progress.
• Maintain meticulous patient records using our electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications tailored to their needs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient health outcomes through integrated care strategies.
• Perform daily rounds as needed, assessing inpatients and coordinating care with other medical staff.
• Stay abreast of advancements in medical treatment and best practices through ongoing education and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
• Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Valid state licensure as a Physician Assistant, compliant with New York state regulations.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, ideally within a family health clinic or surgical setting.
• Strong foundation in family medicine, with a demonstrated ability to handle a variety of patient presentations.
• Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations and best practices related to patient care.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and their families.
• Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care and a collaborative team approach.
• Must possess a valid DEA number for medication prescribing.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical center or multi-disciplinary clinic is preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) software.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000, commensurate with experience.
