Work Environment

Our Surgical Center is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that operates primarily from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with on-call requirements on Saturdays. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and accurately assess both the physical and mental conditions of patients with various heart-related issues.
• Interpret and evaluate laboratory results and diagnostic tests to inform patient treatment plans effectively.
• Prescribe, recommend, and administer medication regimens, including cardiology-specific therapies, while adhering to established protocols with a focus on patient safety and efficacy.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, ensuring alignment with the latest evidence-based guidelines.
• Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular health, treatment options, and lifestyle changes, while addressing any concerns related to medication interactions.
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient treatments, ensuring accurate records for ongoing care and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide specialized consultation services related to cardiovascular conditions, extending care beyond the primary clinic setting as needed.
• Perform select invasive procedures, as required and within the scope of practice, ensuring effectiveness and safety throughout the process.
• Be flexible in taking on additional patient care responsibilities during peak times to support overall departmental needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will primarily work with individuals experiencing a range of cardiac conditions, from routine evaluations to complex, chronic care management. Working closely with a diverse patient population in Hempstead and its surrounding areas, you will engage with patients of all ages, emphasizing preventive care and education on heart health. Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program is mandatory.
• A Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies is required.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a cardiology setting is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, employees are eligible for bonuses based on performance metrics.
