Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will primarily work onsite at our hospital facility, collaborating closely with a team of experienced healthcare providers, including five medical doctors (MDs) and five nurse practitioners (NPs). The setting allows for rich interprofessional engagement that fosters a team-oriented culture, aimed at delivering optimal patient care. Work hours are structured Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week, concluding at 5 PM each day.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess patients' medical history to ensure accurate diagnoses.
• Order and analyze diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and imaging studies, to interpret results effectively.
• Diagnose and manage a variety of health conditions, offering treatment plans for both chronic and acute illnesses.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and monitor their effectiveness while adjusting treatments as necessary.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and follow-up schedules to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients on disease management, preventative health practices, and lifestyle modifications to enhance overall health.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care strategies that prioritize patient-centered outcomes.
• Stay updated with advancements in medical practices and maintain a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals of all ages seeking primary care services. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in a healthcare setting such as a clinic, urgent care facility, or hospital.
• Current and valid Physician Assistant license (PA-C) to practice in New York state.
• DEA number is required for prescribing medications.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and patient care standards.
• Demonstrated exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Strong ethical standards and professionalism.
• Exhibit a team-centric attitude with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues for improved patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in primary care, family medicine, acute care, or cardiology strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
