Accounts Payable Specialist

Carlsbad, CA | Immediate Opportunity | Growing Company LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization in Carlsbad, CA to identify an Accounts Payable Specialist for a temporary assignment expected to last 3 to 6 months . The company is actively hiring and hoping to have someone start as soon as possible. What You'll Do
- Review and process high-volume accounts payable transactions in a paperless environment
- Verify invoices, obtain appropriate approvals, and ensure compliance with internal policies
- Perform three-way matching on purchase order invoices
- Process both PO and non-PO invoices accurately and efficiently
- Reconcile vendor invoices and research discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors and internal business partners regarding invoice status, payment inquiries, and issue resolution
- Maintain accurate records and support month-end accounting activities
- Assist with process improvements and contribute to a team-focused environment
- 2+ years of recent Accounts Payable experience
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Previous experience in a paperless AP environment
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills and a customer-service mindset
- Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Experience with AP automation tools and workflows
- Understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits, credits, accruals, and prepaids
