Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the psychological status of patients and determine optimal treatment pathways.

• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based approaches, regularly monitoring and adjusting treatment strategies as necessary.

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy to foster emotional resilience and personal growth.

• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive integrated, comprehensive mental health care.

• Assist in crisis intervention and manage mental health emergencies with compassion and expertise.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and available community resources, empowering them to make informed decisions.

• Ensure the maintenance of accurate, confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems proficiently.

• Participate actively in case conferences and ongoing professional development, staying updated on current research and best practices in mental health treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor will work primarily with adults and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, each presenting a unique blend of mental health needs. The service population includes individuals experiencing acute and chronic mental health conditions, necessitating a trauma-informed approach to care. Our clinic is dedicated to meeting patients where they are, providing tailored support to help them navigate their mental health journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.

• Currently valid, full license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-C (LCSW-C), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT) in the state of Maryland.

• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and therapeutic practices, along with the capacity to implement effective treatment modalities.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with patients quickly and effectively.

• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) management and various computer applications essential for documentation and reporting.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while respecting professional boundaries and ethical guidelines.

Preferred Experience\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred, reflecting a comprehensive understanding of mental health theories and practices.

• At least two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, demonstrating a successful history of conducting mental health assessments and treatment.

• Experience in both individual and group counseling settings, equipped with strong crisis intervention skills to aid clients effectively.
