Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will take on a range of vital responsibilities including:

• Conducting initial assessments and comprehensive mental health evaluations to understand clients' needs thoroughly.

• Designing personalized treatment and recovery plans based on client evaluations, incorporating individual, group, and family therapeutic interventions.

• Facilitating therapeutic sessions, both individually and in groups, to promote healing, coping strategies, and support.

• Continuously monitoring and documenting clients' progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to enhance outcomes.

• Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to ensure coordination of care.

• Providing valuable resources and referrals to clients as needed to assist in their recovery process.

• Engaging with family members or primary caregivers to guide them in addressing mental health concerns and encouraging supportive home environments.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base includes individuals, couples, and families grappling with a diverse range of mental health issues. This may encompass anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, grief, and co-occurring substance use disorders. You will play a critical role in empowering clients to navigate these challenges while fostering resilience and overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications:

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counseling Exam (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, ideally including familiarity with AVATAR or similar healthcare platforms.

Preferred Experience\n

While previous experience as a mental health counselor is required, candidates with a background addressing complex behavioral and emotional health needs or those familiar with addiction pathology will be highly favored. Additionally, experience in a telehealth setting is beneficial.
