Central Park Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. Work Environment

As a remote position, our Licensed Mental Health Counselor will engage with clients through telehealth platforms, ensuring flexibility while maintaining confidentiality and patient comfort. However, our outpatient office is outfitted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere for clients who may prefer in-person visits. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to gather comprehensive client histories, documenting details accurately from the initial consultation through the entirety of treatment.
• Assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health using established diagnostic criteria and evidence-based evaluation methods.
• Formulate tailored intervention and recovery plans that consider the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, integrating ongoing assessments into treatment methodologies.
• Create and facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques to promote healing and personal development.
• Continuously monitor clients' progress throughout the treatment plan, making necessary adjustments based on client feedback and evolving needs.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, case managers, and social workers, to devise comprehensive client intervention strategies.
• Maintain communication with hospital staff regarding clients admitted for inpatient treatment, providing follow-up care as needed to ensure continuity of care.
• Identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, employing preventative strategies in therapy sessions.
• Offer guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers, helping them navigate mental and behavioral challenges in collaboration with the clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves individuals across various age groups and backgrounds, including those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship issues. Our Licensed Mental Health Counselor will have the opportunity to work closely with clients from diverse socioeconomic statuses and varying degrees of mental health challenges, ensuring the delivery of tailor-made therapeutic techniques that promote recovery and resilience.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor, with a strong understanding of various therapy modalities.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate client records and progress notes.
• Knowledge of underlying physical and emotional health conditions, including familiarity with addiction disorders.
• Awareness of best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy and a genuine passion for assisting clients in their recovery journeys.

Preferred Experience

• Prior engagement in teletherapy or remote counseling practices is a plus, with an aptitude for using technology to foster client connections.
• Insight into treatment approaches for specific demographics, such as children, adolescents, and families with multifaceted challenges.
• Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
