Key Responsibilities

• Conduct crisis assessments and interventions for clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies to ensure immediate support and safety.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that consider each client's specific circumstances and therapeutic needs.
• Collaborate closely with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in crisis.
• Facilitate follow-up care and monitor clients' progress, providing recommendations for additional resources or support options as required.
• Employ various crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to manage difficult situations effectively and compassionately.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, including workshops and training to enhance your crisis counseling skills and efficacy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse clientele dealing with complex mental health issues. This includes a significant emphasis on elderly individuals facing unique challenges related to mental health and aging. You will leverage your expertise in geriatric mental health to provide sensitive and thoughtful care that addresses the emotional and psychological needs of older adults.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• A minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience in a mental health setting.
• Preferred additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and experience working with elderly clients.

Preferred Experience

While we require three years of experience in mental health support, candidates who have specialized in elderly care and can demonstrate successful counseling approaches for this demographic will be particularly valued. Additionally, familiarity with tools and practices for telehealth delivery will enhance your effectiveness in this remote role.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges between USD 70,000 and 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
