Compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist for Trauma Care - Remote Opportunity

Position Overview

Atlas Psychological and Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) to join our team. As a full-time therapist, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialized mental health care for individuals experiencing the profound effects of trauma. Our outpatient office is committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and restorative environment where our patients can embark on their healing journeys.

Work Environment

This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexible work arrangements while interacting with patients through telehealth services. However, occasional in-office sessions may be required to facilitate group therapies or team meetings. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient needs. Whether in remote sessions or at our outpatient office, our focus remains on delivering high-quality care in a conducive work setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments, evaluating each patient's trauma history and treatment needs.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, emotional resilience, and adaptive coping strategies.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions where patients can process their experiences, develop new coping mechanisms, and promote emotional healing.
• Engage collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and integrated patient care.
• Offer crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, utilizing your expertise to stabilize and guide patients to safety.
• Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping techniques, and available therapeutic resources.
• Maintain precise, confidential documentation in alignment with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Participate in case consultations, contribute to team discussions, and engage in ongoing professional development focused on trauma-informed practices.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to provide best-practice recommendations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with individuals affected by trauma, including survivors of abuse, combat veterans, and those coping with significant life events that have led to lasting psychological distress. Our commitment to trauma-informed care means that you will be equipped and supported to help these individuals navigate their unique challenges as they work toward healing and recovery.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Possession of a current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred.
• In-depth understanding of trauma-related disorders and proficiency in trauma-focused treatment methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills that foster compassionate, respectful, and collaborative relationships with our patients.
• Ability to remain composed and effective in high-stress environments; adept at crisis management.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications essential for documentation and communication.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting.

Preferred Experience

Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies is highly valued, particularly with methodologies such as EMDR and TF-CBT. Familiarity with working in outpatient settings and with diverse populations will enhance your ability to connect with our patients and address their unique needs effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation package is competitive, with a salary range of $80,000 to $104,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a sign-on bonus, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
