Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient’s trauma history, guiding the development of effective treatment strategies.
• Create and execute individualized treatment plans with clear goals centered on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and coping skill enhancement.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during therapy sessions.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions where patients can process trauma, share experiences, and learn new coping mechanisms.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated patient care, ensuring that all aspects of a patient's mental and physical health are addressed.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, utilizing your expertise to stabilize and assist affected individuals.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources to foster understanding and support.
• Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development sessions focused on trauma-informed practices.
• Stay informed of the most recent research and best practices in trauma therapy to deliver the highest quality of care to your patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary demographics you will serve include individuals of all ages who have experienced various forms of trauma. This may encompass survivors of physical abuse, emotional distress, or those dealing with the effects of systemic issues such as poverty or community violence. Your work will aim to facilitate recovery and healing through recognition of budgetary constraints and available community resources.

Qualifications

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Georgia.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a relevant clinical setting.
• In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and established trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Proven ability to deliver trauma-focused therapies effectively and compassionately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a non-judgmental and supportive approach.
• Capacity to maintain composure in high-stress situations, ensuring a calm presence for patients.
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software applications.
• A collaborative spirit, ready to work harmoniously with a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with various therapeutic techniques, specifically in trauma-informed contexts.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations, including children, adolescents, and adults with varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Previous involvement in community outreach or education efforts regarding mental health awareness.

Compensation and Benefits
