Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, which may include psychosocial evaluations, diagnostic interviews, and risk assessments to inform treatment decisions.
• Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that reflect their specific goals, cultural considerations, and unique backgrounds.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) in numerous settings including individual, couple, family, and group therapy.
• Provide crisis intervention services, collaborating with other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure the continuity and cohesiveness of care for clients experiencing acute distress.
• Maintain meticulous and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
• Deliver psychoeducation to clients and their families, equipping them with strategies to effectively manage mental health challenges and enhance their understanding of the therapeutic process.
• Engage regularly with a multidisciplinary team composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care plans tailored to each client.
• Conduct regular outcome assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal client progress.
• Stay informed about the latest research, best practices, and emerging trends in mental health to integrate new knowledge into clinical practice effectively.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality to foster an environment of trust and respect for client information.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Avira, you will serve a diverse client population that includes individuals facing various mental health challenges, particularly those impacted by trauma and adversity. Your ability to provide culturally sensitive counseling will be vital in ensuring all clients feel understood and respected within the therapeutic space.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for establishing rapport with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of two years of professional experience in a mental health counseling role, preferably within an outpatient setting.
• Experience utilizing trauma-informed care approaches and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Compensation and Benefits
