Position Overview

Healing Escape Psychotherapy Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote position. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and interviews to document each client's mental health status and treatment history.
• Evaluate clients’ emotional and behavioral health, demonstrating competence in identifying complex mental health issues.
• Craft tailored treatment and recovery plans for a wide spectrum of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and specialized groups.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and interactive methodologies to promote engagement.
• Regularly monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate client care and interventions.
• Follow up with psychiatrists regarding clients who may need medication management or who have been admitted to hospital care.
• Assist families and primary caregivers in understanding mental health challenges and guiding them on supportive practices for their loved ones.
• Proactively identify potential barriers to recovery and develop strategies to mitigate those challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, experiencing a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. You will work with adults, adolescents, and families, employing culturally sensitive approaches and tailored interventions to meet the unique circumstances of each individual.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Proven experience working as a mental health counselor, demonstrating strong clinical skills and professional expertise.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, enhancing operational efficiency in managing client information.
• Sound understanding of the interplay between mental health, physical health conditions, and addiction disorders.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interaction and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and engage clients with empathy and understanding.

Preferred Experience

• Experience integrating best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) into clinical work.
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including the effects of medications prescribed by healthcare professionals.
• Background in facilitating group therapy sessions, showcasing the ability to manage dynamics effectively.
• Previous involvement in community outreach initiatives or educational workshops is a plus.
