Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting thorough mental health assessments, including preliminary interviews that document clients' histories, symptoms, and treatment needs from initial consultations through the end of their care.

• Evaluating clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to develop insightful treatment and intervention plans adapted to individual, couple, family, and group therapy contexts.
\n
• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based practices that resonate with diverse client needs and therapeutic goals.
\n
• Continuously monitoring and documenting clients' progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure efficacy and responsiveness to their evolving needs.
\n
• Collaboratively developing intervention strategies by consulting with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure a multi-faceted approach to client care.

• Proactively managing referrals, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive support and resources, including follow-ups with hospital personnel when necessary.
\n
• Identifying potential behavioral issues that may disrupt treatment, and implementing strategies to address these challenges effectively.
\n
• Providing guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers, empowering them to assist their loved ones through mental health challenges and recovery processes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of clients from various backgrounds facing a wide array of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and addiction disorders. Your ability to adapt your therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client, whether through individual sessions or supportive group therapies, will be imperative. You will be part of a mission to enhance the overall well-being of the San Francisco community, addressing both mental health and co-occurring physical health concerns.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to ensure efficient management of client data.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, along with strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and other health professionals.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor, with demonstrated effectiveness in clinical insight and therapeutic interventions.

• Experience addressing underlying physical and emotional health conditions, alongside a familiarity with addiction recovery techniques.
\n
• An understanding of best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and an in-depth knowledge of pharmacological interventions prescribed by medical specialists.

Compensation and Benefits\n
