Work Environment

This full-time position is based in the vibrant community of Metuchen, New Jersey, and requires dedicated physical therapists to work onsite in a home care capacity. You will be responsible for delivering care in patients' residences, providing therapeutic interventions that are tailored and contextualized to each patient's domestic environment. The role entails a Monday to Friday schedule with a 40-hour workweek, allowing you to maintain a work-life balance while engaging in fulfilling patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients recovering from various injuries, illnesses, or surgical procedures within their homes.
• Design individualized treatment plans utilizing a variety of intervention techniques, including therapeutic exercises, stretching, manual therapy, and the use of therapeutic equipment to alleviate pain and enhance mobility.
• Track, document, and analyze patient responses to treatment, modifying plans as needed to ensure optimal recovery and achievement of therapeutic goals.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on the use of assistive devices and self-care techniques that enhance daily living activities and improve patient outcomes.
• Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge by engaging in continuing education opportunities, including workshops, peer collaboration, and staying informed through professional literature.
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the collective knowledge of the organization through sharing experiences and treatment success stories.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population, including individuals who are navigating recovery from orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, surgical interventions, and chronic pain situations. Your expertise will be essential in understanding these varied needs and delivering person-centered care that aligns with each patient's lifestyle and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• Current and valid DPT license in the state of New Jersey.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey therapeutic concepts clearly to patients and their families.
• Proficiency in using computer software for documentation and treatment planning.
• Strong adaptability and the ability to work flexibly within a variety of home environments and patient situations.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the field is preferred, but we welcome newly graduated physical therapists looking for mentorship and support.

Compensation and Benefits
