Work Environment\n

As a remote work setting, this role offers flexibility while still providing the opportunity to connect with a robust outpatient office team. Your main work hours will be Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although occasional evening shifts may be necessary depending on patient needs. This environment fosters collaboration and innovation, allowing you to deliver the best care possible from the comfort of your home or during in-person consultations when needed.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents to determine individual needs and objectives.
\n
• Develop tailored, evidence-based treatment plans incorporating the latest therapeutic modalities that consider each young client’s developmental stage and unique family context.

• Engage in individual therapy sessions with young patients, utilizing techniques suitable for their specific diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions that provide insights and tools for parents and caregivers to foster a supportive home environment.
\n
• Work in close partnership with child psychiatrists and other professionals to ensure holistic and cohesive care strategies are in place for clients.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention to address mental health emergencies, ensuring patient safety and appropriate follow-up care.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, potential treatment paths, and available community resources.
\n
• Maintain compliance with legal and ethical standards by accurately documenting patient interactions and treatment progress within an electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations, contributing to the collective knowledge and support of all staff members.

• Stay updated on current research, advancements, and best practices in child and adolescent mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents facing mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, and behavioral issues. The ideal therapist will connect with young patients aged between 5 to 18 years, taking into account the unique pressures and expectations they face in today’s society.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program is required.

• A valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker - R Privilege (LCSW-R), Licensed Psychoanalyst, or Licensed Psychologist in the state of New York is mandatory.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is highly desired to ensure a depth of knowledge and skill in this specialized field.

• Comprehensive understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders along with a familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate, child-centered approach that fosters trust and rapport with patients and their families.

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions effectively.

• A collaborative spirit that thrives in a team-based setting, working alongside fellow therapists and psychiatrists to improve patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year, along with a sign-on bonus to welcome you to our team.
