Work Environment

You will be working in our modern outpatient facility located in Paterson, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions through interviews and physical examinations to identify movement dysfunctions.
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans, focusing on therapeutic exercise techniques that align with each patient's recovery goals.
• Instruct patients and their families on how to execute prescribed exercises safely and effectively, enhancing self-management of their conditions.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities such as manual techniques and electrotherapy to promote healing and alleviate pain.
• Assist patients with mobility aids such as walking devices and wheelchairs, ensuring safe and proper use to foster independence.
• Track patient progress meticulously, documenting all findings and treatment outcomes in our electronic health record system.
• Provide guidance on in-home treatment strategies to empower patients and their families in the rehabilitation process.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will engage with a diverse demographic, including pediatric and geriatric patients dealing with a variety of diagnoses, ranging from post-surgical recovery to chronic pain management. Our patient-centered approach emphasizes empathy and understanding the unique challenges each individual may face during their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• Current and valid state licensure in New Jersey to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, allowing for effective interaction with patients, families, and team members.
• Proficient in computerized documentation and clinical software programs.
• A flexible and agile approach to problem-solving within a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Experience

While all applicants are welcome, candidates with two or more years of clinical experience in outpatient therapy are preferred. Familiarity with evidence-based practices in physical therapy, coupled with a passion for mentorship, particularly for new graduates, will be highly regarded.
