The position is based onsite at our rehabilitation facility located in the beautiful Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, restoring muscle function, and enhancing clients' overall performance.
• Directly supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring effective and appropriate implementation of treatment protocols.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities through various diagnostic tests and assessments.
• Assess the home environment to identify barriers to independence and provide actionable recommendations for rehabilitation.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises while instructing and motivating clients to engage in non-manual exercises and daily functional activities.
• Implement traction and massage therapies, as well as utilize physical agents for treatment purposes.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices as needed, making modifications and recommendations to physicians as appropriate.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to contribute to the ongoing development and revision of comprehensive care plans for clients.
• Document client progress meticulously, preparing clinical records including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Provide education to clients and families regarding the use and care of physical therapy devices and the overall therapy program.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations by providing adequate supervision to physical therapy assistants.
• Maintain timely communication of orders and documentation as per organizational policies.
• Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as needed to fulfill organizational goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The physical therapist will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, those with chronic illnesses, and clients requiring rehabilitation after acute medical events. The therapeutic services focus on improving mobility, enhancing strength, and promoting overall well-being, allowing clients to achieve their personal goals in recovery.

Qualifications

• A valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida, in good standing.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in an acute care or home care setting, or as mandated by state regulations.
• Current CPR certification to ensure safety and emergency preparedness.
• A valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance to facilitate transportation to client locations.
• A creative thinker with strong decision-making capabilities and a commitment to clinical excellence.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a rehabilitation facility setting preferred.
• Prior experience working with interdisciplinary teams and participating in case conferences.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to streamline documentation and communication.

Compensation and Benefits
