Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide individual psychotherapy and counseling to students, addressing a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, emotional distress, and behavioral challenges.

• Conduct thorough interviews to gather and interpret vital social, personal, and health information, tailoring interventions to each student's unique circumstances.
\n
• Assess and treat mental health issues within your scope of practice, employing evidence-based strategies to facilitate positive outcomes.
\n
• Develop and implement tailored programs and interventions designed to meet the social and emotional needs of clients.
\n
• Facilitate short-term crisis interventions, ensuring timely referrals to community resources as necessary.
\n
• Establish and maintain a therapeutic rapport characterized by mutual respect and trust with clients and their families.
\n
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness consistently, adjusting strategies in response to client feedback and progress.
\n
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with established protocols.

• Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring case documentation reflects the services provided and adheres to organizational standards.

• Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community partners to coordinate care, ensuring comprehensive support for students.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on school-aged children and their families, working with diverse populations facing challenges related to mental health. This includes children experiencing behavioral and emotional difficulties, as well as those coping with stressors such as family conflict, grief, and grief-related issues. By addressing these diverse needs, you will be playing a vital role in fostering resilience and promoting healthier outcomes for your clients.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credentials in the state of New York.

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in clinical social work, particularly in behavioral mental health settings.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a school-based or educational context is highly preferred.

• Prior experience in treating behavioral health issues including depression, anxiety disorders, family dynamics, grief, and substance dependency is a plus.
