Serta Lane Consultation and Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team specializing in the mental health needs of children and adolescents. This full-time, remote position allows you to provide valuable therapeutic support to young individuals and their families, addressing a scope of mental health challenges from anxiety and depression to ADHD and behavioral issues.

Work Environment\n

The work is conducted remotely, allowing for flexibility in how services are delivered while maintaining quality care. Although primarily remote, you will interact closely with our specialized child psychiatry team, ensuring coordinated treatment plans. Office hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required based on patient demand.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate the needs and conditions of children and adolescents, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

• Develop tailored, evidence-based treatment plans that consider each child’s developmental stage, family circumstances, and individual therapeutic goals.

• Utilize validated therapeutic techniques in individual and family settings, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to address mental health challenges.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions, providing education and strategies to parents and caregivers to cultivate a supportive environment at home.

• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure integrated care and address any urgent or crisis situations requiring immediate intervention.

• Provide educational resources and support to families regarding mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources available to them.
\n
• Maintain detailed and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring accurate tracking of treatment progress.

• Participate actively in case consultations and team meetings to enhance service delivery and foster a continuous learning environment.

• Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in child and adolescent mental health, integrating new findings into practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents facing a diverse range of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and various behavioral issues. Each interaction aims to empower young patients through comprehensive support, leading to meaningful improvement in their overall mental health and wellbeing.

Qualifications\n

• The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license in the state of California as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist is required.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working with children and adolescents is strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of childhood psychological disorders, evidence-based treatment approaches, and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, child-centered approach to building rapport with both patients and their families.

• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse group of professionals.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this role ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
