Work Environment

This position is an onsite role based in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in Fort Lauderdale, known for its vibrant community and beautiful coastal scenery. Key Responsibilities

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will undertake a range of responsibilities designed to optimize patient care and enhance the recovery process:

• Design and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at reducing pain, improving muscle function, and preventing disability.
• Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure that therapy plans are executed effectively and meet the standards of care.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical capabilities using diagnostic tests that assess muscle, joint, and functional abilities.
• Assess home environments to create recommendations that promote client autonomy and facilitate rehabilitation.
• Deliver prescribed physical therapy services in-person at our facility, ensuring adherence to physician directives.
• Perform manual therapeutic exercises and instruct clients on both manual and non-manual physical activities.
• Utilize traction, massage, and various physical agents as therapeutic interventions to enhance patient care outcomes.
• Evaluate, fit, and make recommendations for prosthetic and orthotic devices in collaboration with physicians.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to collectively assess each client's treatment progress and collaborate on care strategies.
• Provide education and guidance to clients and their families regarding therapy plans and device usage.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in accordance with state laws and provide necessary training and support.
• Stay accessible to team members and clients, ensuring continuity and accessibility of care during treatment sessions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgeries, as well as those dealing with chronic orthopedic conditions. The diverse patient population may include post-surgical patients, individuals with mobility challenges, and those requiring rehabilitative support to return to daily activities. Qualifications

To thrive in this role, candidates are expected to meet the following qualifications:

• Possess a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Hold a current physical therapy license in good standing for the state of Florida.
• Demonstrate at least one year of experience in a physical therapy role, ideally in an acute care or home care setting.
• Maintain CPR certification and possess a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
