Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, providing flexibility while engaging in valuable direct interaction with clients. You will collaborate with a diverse interdisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists. Our working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with some potential evening hours required based on client appointments, ensuring we meet the needs of our clients effectively.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to ascertain their mental health and substance use concerns, identifying any co-occurring disorders that may affect their treatment.

• Develop personalized treatment plans through collaborative sessions with clients, incorporating evidence-based interventions tailored to their unique needs.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on equipping clients with coping skills, relapse prevention tactics, and emotional regulation strategies necessary for recovery.

• Engage in regular collaboration with our multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and integrated care is provided to all clients, maintaining consistent communication on treatment plans and outcomes.

• Oversee substance use monitoring, employing motivational interviewing techniques to inspire and engage clients in their journey towards recovery.

• Educate clients and their families on the complex relationships between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing treatment compliance and its importance in recovery.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, adhering strictly to ethical and legal guidelines.

• Actively participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and ongoing training sessions to continuously enhance knowledge and skills pertinent to co-occurring disorder treatment.

You will work primarily with individuals struggling with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This population often requires specialized interventions that are informed by an understanding of the complexities of both conditions, and your expert guidance will play a critical role in enhancing their quality of life and leading them towards sustainable recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Virginia is mandatory.

• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies specific to co-occurring disorders, particularly Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A robust understanding of the intersection between mental health and substance use disorders, along with the necessary counseling techniques to address both.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, we value additional certifications or training courses focused on integrated care practices and co-occurring disorder treatment that will enable you to offer enriched support to our clients.
