Work Environment\n

The work environment at AdvantageCare is both supportive and collaborative. The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs. This role facilitates ongoing relationships with clients while providing therapeutic interventions in a safe and adaptable outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments considering the unique psychological, emotional, and social factors affecting older adults.

• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans focused on geriatric patients’ mental health, cognitive changes, and life circumstances.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to individual therapy, family therapy, and group sessions designed for elderly patients.
\n
• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams to promote integrated care and enhance therapeutic outcomes.

• Respond to mental health crises involving elderly patients and provide appropriate interventions and follow-up care.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, potential treatments, and available support resources in the community.

• Document all patient interactions and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Actively participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development initiatives to continually enhance skills and knowledge in geriatric psychiatry.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and current research within the field of geriatric mental health.

In this role, you will focus on a diverse group of elderly patients, many of whom may experience complex mental health challenges as a result of various life transitions, health issues, or cognitive decline. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW in the state of Pennsylvania.

• Demonstrated competence in therapeutic techniques and a deep understanding of the particular mental health challenges faced by older adults.

Compensation and Benefits\n
