Position Overview

The Brook Physician Assistant Clinic is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center in Utica, New York. In this pivotal role, you will assess, diagnose, plan, and implement comprehensive medical care for patients in collaboration with our supervising physicians. Utilizing your full scope of licensure, you will be responsible for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of care, including direct patient interactions, education for patients and their families, and efficient transitions of care. Your contributions will include performing therapeutic procedures and daily rounds as part of an organized multi-disciplinary team, ensuring continuity of care throughout every stage of the patient journey.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position based at our modern Surgical Center in Utica, NY. You will work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, surrounded by a passionate team of healthcare professionals. Your average work schedule will be Monday to Friday, comprising approximately 40 hours per week, including a 5:00 PM shift, allowing for a healthy work-life balance while providing essential care to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and meticulously review patient medical records to identify health issues accurately.
• Order and interpret necessary diagnostic tests, including blood work and imaging studies, to inform treatment strategies.
• Diagnose and manage a wide array of health conditions, with a particular focus on family medicine, ensuring patients receive effective and evidence-based care.
• Develop personalized treatment plans for chronic and infectious diseases, taking into account individual patient needs and preferences.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses, making adjustments to treatment plans as required.
• Maintain organized and accurate patient records, managing schedules efficiently to optimize patient flow.
• Educate patients and their families about diseases, preventive care strategies, and healthy lifestyle choices to promote overall well-being.
• Oversee and ensure the comprehensive management of patients' health, advocating for their needs throughout their healthcare journey.
• Encourage and implement preventive care practices to reduce the risk of illness in the community.
• Continuously update knowledge about advancements in primary care through ongoing research and professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• Completion of a Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Proven experience in a family health clinic or similar medical setting.
• Specialization or strong background in family medicine.
• Extensive clinical experience in primary care practices.
• Demonstrated understanding of healthcare regulations and patient care protocols.
• Excellent communication skills to foster effective patient interactions and nurture trusting therapeutic relationships.

Compensation and Benefits

The competitive salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $160,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
