Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments by performing comprehensive health histories and physical examinations to determine patient health status.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic health conditions autonomously within the regulations of the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice.
• Order and interpret various diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies, to provide accurate diagnoses.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and develop individualized non-pharmacologic treatment plans consistent with best practices for adult patients.
• Create and track measurable patient outcomes and goals, ensuring treatment plans are effective and making modifications when necessary.
• Deliver health promotion strategies and wellness education for patients and their families, addressing concerns proactively.
• Engage actively in clinical team meetings to discuss best practices, review complex cases, and enhance patient care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Adult Nurse Practitioner in our Internal Medicine practice, you will primarily care for adult patients, including seniors and those with chronic illnesses. Your expertise will be central to managing their health needs through continuity of care, ensuring they receive timely follow-ups and health education tailored to their conditions.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
• Current New York State licenses for Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner.
• Nurse Practitioner Board Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Exceptional clinical skills complemented by strong interpersonal and communication abilities, both in writing and verbally.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of advanced practice experience in an internal medicine setting is preferred, demonstrating proficiency in managing adult health issues.

Compensation and Benefits
