Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting thorough assessments and consultations with patients to accurately evaluate their physical conditions and symptoms.
• Diagnosing movement dysfunctions using evidence-based practices and developing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Implementing therapeutic exercise programs, serving as a guide to teach patients effective techniques to enhance their mobility and strength.
• Providing manual therapy, including stimulation or massage, to promote healing and alleviate pain.
• Assisting patients in learning how to use assistive devices, such as wheelchairs and walkers, ensuring they feel safe and confident in their movements.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously and maintaining accurate records to evaluate outcomes and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educating patients and their families about in-home treatment strategies and exercises to encourage continued recovery outside of the clinic.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient demographic, ranging from pediatric to geriatric patients who present with various diagnoses, including post-surgical rehabilitation, orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, and sports-related issues. Your expertise will significantly contribute to their rehabilitation journey, guiding them toward achieving their personal health goals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• A valid license to practice physical therapy in the state of Virginia.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for patient interaction and teamwork.
• Proficiency in word processing and basic computer skills for maintaining patient records and documentation.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of the clinic and patients.

Preferred Experience

We request that applicants have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a clinical setting. Familiarity with specialized methodologies or treatment modalities is an asset, as is experience in a rehabilitation center setting.

Compensation and Benefits
