Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling and crisis intervention to patients, assessing their emotional and behavioral issues and developing tailored treatment plans.
• Maintain effective communication with physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss patient progress and identify ongoing needs, challenges, and potential solutions.
• Document and maintain accurate clinical records, including progress notes and treatment plans, in accordance with our department’s policies and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop comprehensive treatment plans and discharge strategies based on thorough psychosocial assessments.
• Engage with community resource groups and represent Bedford Healthcare Center at meetings and committees to address and advocate for the social needs of patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Bedford Healthcare Center, you will primarily serve diverse populations who may be experiencing mental health challenges, emotional distress, or substance use disorders. Your role will involve providing empathetic care to individuals seeking recovery and resilience. You'll focus on understanding their unique life circumstances and tailoring interventions that foster healing and reintegration into daily life.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.
• Applicants must possess one of the following independent licenses: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A minimum of two years of post-graduate professional experience in a clinical setting is mandatory.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience working within a telehealth capacity or familiarity with teletherapy methodologies can enhance your effectiveness in this role. Additional training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions will be considered an asset as it aligns with our commitment to providing best-practice care.

Compensation and Benefits
