Position Overview

Hope Balance Wellness Center is actively searching for a dedicated and culturally competent Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team in Rochester, New York. As a full-time therapist, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality mental health care to diverse patient populations, utilizing your skills in evidence-based therapy and cultural responsiveness.

Work Environment

This position offers a remote work setting, allowing you to provide therapy from the comfort of your own home while engaging with clients in the Rochester area. You will be part of an outpatient office environment that values flexibility, support, and inclusivity. Our work schedule is typically Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some opportunity for flexibility to better accommodate the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to evaluate clients’ unique experiences and formulate personalized treatment plans.
• Implement effective evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the individual, considering their cultural context and life circumstances.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions focused on addressing mental health concerns and promoting overall resilience.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, to provide comprehensive care.
• Offer immediate support and crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, ensuring clients' safety and well-being.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health disorders, available treatment options, and community resources to enhance their understanding and support network.
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in alignment with legal and ethical standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Participate in ongoing case conferences, team meetings, and specialized training focused on cultural competency and therapeutic best practices.
• Continuously update your knowledge of research, best practices, and emerging trends in mental health therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid license as either an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders, evidenced-based treatment methodologies, and a strong foundation in cultural competence in therapy.
• Proven experience in delivering both individual and group therapy, employing inclusive and culturally responsive therapeutic approaches.
• Exceptional crisis intervention skills with the ability to navigate high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficient at establishing rapport with a diverse clientele.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) software and relevant computer applications.
• A commitment to upholding professional boundaries, ethical guidelines, and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with underrepresented populations and an understanding of the social determinants of mental health.
• Engagement in professional development activities focused on therapy techniques and cultural humility.
• Experience in conducting workshops or providing educational seminars on mental health topics relevant to the community.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
