This position will be remote, providing flexibility in your daily schedule while maintaining a strong connection with your team. Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform culturally sensitive mental health assessments to thoroughly understand clients' unique situations and formulate effective treatment plans tailored to their needs.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care, that are reflective of individual patients’ cultural backgrounds.

• Provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions, employing best practices to address a range of mental health concerns and promote resilience.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure integrated care for all patients.

• Assist clients during mental health crises, providing intervention and support to manage emergencies effectively.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about mental health, treatment modalities, and community resources, empowering them to make informed decisions.

• Maintain up-to-date and confidential documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Engage in team meetings and case conferences to improve service delivery and share case management strategies.

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development, focusing on cultural competence and current therapeutic modalities.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role will focus on serving a diverse client population that includes ethnic and cultural minorities, individuals from the LGBTQ+ community, and immigrant groups. Understanding these populations’ unique social and cultural contexts will be critical in providing effective therapy that acknowledges their individual experiences and systemic challenges. You will work to foster a trusting relationship with clients, ensuring they feel understood and valued.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Proof of a current and valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.

• Comprehensive knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
\n
• Experience conducting individual and group therapy with a focus on culturally responsive approaches.

• Strong crisis intervention skills with a calm demeanor during emergencies.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with a diverse client base.

• Familiarity with EHR systems and the ability to navigate digital platforms for teletherapy.

• Commitment to ethical guidelines and professional boundaries.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience in mental health counseling, particularly with diverse populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n
