Work Environment

This role will be based on-site at our hospital facility in sunny Sarasota, Florida. Your typical shift will be Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Our modern facilities are equipped with the latest therapeutic technologies and equipment to enhance patient treatment and recovery. You will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your primary duties will involve:

• Assisting Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans designed to improve patient mobility, alleviate pain, and enhance overall physical function.

• Administering physical therapy treatments while assessing and documenting patient progress to inform ongoing care strategies.

• Maintaining accurate and comprehensive medical records for each patient, collaborating with other healthcare professionals in evaluating patient outcomes.

• Independently conducting therapeutic activities as sanctioned by the supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on improving the functional capabilities of our patients.

• Educating patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and strategies to achieve optimum recovery results.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will involve caring for a diverse range of patients within the orthopedic outpatient setting. You will directly support individuals recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions affecting their physical mobility. By fostering a supportive and encouraging environment, you will help patients navigate their respective rehabilitation journeys and achieve their personal health goals.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, from a state-approved program or an equivalent as recognized by the Florida Board of Physical Therapy.

• A current and valid Florida Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License.

• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical patient care experience.

• Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and protocols pertaining to orthopedic care and rehabilitation.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to foster meaningful connections with patients and team members.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates who possess:

• Familiarity with using electronic health records (EHR) systems, which aids in efficient patient record management.

• Experience working within a hospital or similar rehabilitative environment, providing insights into interdisciplinary collaboration.

• A background in orthopedic therapy as it relates to post-operative and chronic pain management.
