Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to thoroughly evaluate patients’ trauma histories.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience-building, ensuring they align with each patient’s unique needs.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their experiences, develop coping strategies, and promote holistic healing.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other interdisciplinary professionals to ensure integrated, coordinated care for each patient.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to foster informed decision-making.

• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development sessions focused on trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on clients experiencing effects from trauma, including those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and related disorders. The counselor will be responsible for adapting therapeutic strategies to meet the specific needs of diverse individuals while fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship necessary for effective recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license, such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT, in the state of Texas.

Compensation and Benefits\n
