Key Responsibilities\n

• Participate in ride-alongs with law enforcement during mental health-related incidents, providing your expertise to enhance safety and care for individuals in crisis.

• Conduct field psychiatric evaluations to determine the necessity of 5150/5585 involuntary detention applications, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.

• Provide immediate short-term crisis counseling to individuals experiencing non-violent mental health episodes, creating a safe and supportive environment.

• Develop and implement comprehensive action plans tailored to individual needs and collaborate effectively with mental health facilities, social services, and other community organizations.

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and interventions while ensuring adherence to confidentiality standards.

• Facilitate training sessions for police personnel on best practices for de-escalating situations involving mental health challenges, promoting a trauma-informed approach.

• Engage in case management with third-party entities, such as the Department of Mental Health, to ensure continuity of care for individuals post-crisis.

Qualifications\n

• Current and valid Licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California.
