Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand each patient’s trauma history and current mental health status.

• Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each individual, focusing on trauma recovery and building resilience.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to assist patients in processing their trauma and developing effective coping strategies.
\n
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for all patients.

• Respond to trauma-related crises, providing immediate support and intervention as needed.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on the effects of trauma, coping strategies, and available resources for further support.
\n
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in compliance with all applicable legal and ethical standards.

• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development to enhance trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy for continuous enhancement of therapy approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role will be on individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma. This can include survivors of abuse, victims of violence, and others dealing with complex trauma experiences. Your expertise will be vital in providing hope and healing to those who often feel lost and overwhelmed in their recovery journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with a focus on trauma-related therapies.

• Substantial knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.

• Experience in delivering trauma-focused interventions and therapeutic modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic environment.

• Capacity to remain calm and effective in high-pressure and crisis situations.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technology for documentation and analysis of patient care.

• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated care.

Compensation and Benefits\n
