Experienced Physician Assistant for Surgical Center in Spring Valley, NY

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at Premier Physician Assistant Services. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, and implementing medical care for patients in collaboration with our physicians. You will have the opportunity to function within the full scope of your licensure, where you will be accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of care. This includes providing direct patient care, patient and family education, and ensuring seamless transitions of care across our surgical center.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position requiring you to work 40 hours per week, predominantly from Monday to Friday with a 5:00 pm shift. You'll collaborate closely with a team of healthcare professionals in a dynamic surgical center setting that emphasizes efficient care delivery and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and meticulously review patient medical records to gather complete health histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including blood tests and X-rays, to facilitate precise diagnoses and informed treatment plans.
• Diagnose and manage a variety of health conditions, utilizing evidence-based practices within the realm of family medicine.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment strategies for chronic and infectious diseases, aligning with patients' health goals.
• Prescribe medications and closely monitor patient responses, adjusting prescriptions as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain and organize accurate patient records and schedules, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards in health information management.
• Educate patients and their families about diseases, preventive measures, and treatment plans, fostering an informed patient population.
• Proactively oversee and manage the holistic health and well-being of patients, advocating for preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Continuously update professional knowledge and skills with the latest advancements in primary care through research and continuing education.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse patient population within our surgical center that requires attentive and compassionate support. Your role will include interacting with individuals undergoing various surgical procedures, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative care, thereby playing a crucial part in the patients' recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant is mandatory.
• Strong foundation in family medicine with proven experience, preferably in a clinical or surgical setting.
• Extensive clinical experience in primary care is essential, as you will regularly encounter a range of patient conditions.
• Robust knowledge of health regulations and best practices in patient care.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients and their families.
• Commitment to an ethical approach, demonstrating a dedication to patient-centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while fostering a positive work atmosphere.
• Preferred candidates will have a DEA number and a demonstrated willingness to engage in continual professional development.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of two years' experience as a Physician Assistant, particularly in a family health clinic or similar healthcare environment. Specialization in family medicine and familiarity with surgical procedures will be advantageous in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package for this role is competitive, with an annual salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
