Decker Physical Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our team in Toms River, New Jersey. This full-time, onsite position involves direct patient care focused on rehabilitating individuals with orthopedic conditions. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement customized treatment plans for patients with orthopedic disabilities, focusing on relieving pain and restoring functional movement.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants in the application of therapeutic techniques, ensuring a high standard of care adherence.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical abilities, utilizing diagnostic tests to evaluate muscle and joint function, and adapting care plans accordingly.
• Perform in-depth evaluations of clients' home environments to recommend modifications that enhance independence and safety.
• Deliver therapeutic exercises—both manual and non-manual—motivating and instructing clients through each session to ensure effective engagement in their recovery process.
• Administer specialized treatments, including manual therapy techniques, modalities like traction and electrical stimulation, to support clients' rehabilitation goals.
• Engage in ongoing evaluation of treatment efficacy and adapt care plans based on the patient's progress, documenting all changes and communicated them to team members.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and evaluate overall patient care strategies, contributing your expertise in physical therapy.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including intake evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Educate patients and their families on recovery exercises, preventive measures, and the use of therapeutic equipment to facilitate ongoing care at home.
• Perform additional duties as required to meet patient and organizational needs effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our orthopedic patients primarily include individuals recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. The diverse clientele ranges from young athletes needing rehabilitation to elderly patients working to regain mobility and independence. Your role will be pivotal in customizing rehabilitation strategies that are not only effective but also patient-tailored, ensuring each individual receives the best possible care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT).
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively within a team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with advanced rehabilitation techniques and modalities.
• Prior working knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient care.
• Familiarity with outcome measurements and the ability to apply them to enhance patient recovery processes.

Compensation and Benefits

The offered salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
