Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments and offer immediate support to arrestees and community members experiencing mental health crises, with an emphasis on de-escalating situations and developing individualized action plans.

• Collaborate with law enforcement to educate officers on effectively managing mental health emergencies, ensuring a reduction in the use of force and improving outreach efforts.
\n
• Provide essential case management services, liaising with various third-party entities such as the Department of Mental Health and psychiatric facilities, while maintaining regular follow-ups on patient progress.

• Document patient interactions meticulously, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations to protect patient information.
\n
• Assist police officers in conducting field evaluations to ascertain the need for involuntary detention applications under 5150/5585 protocols, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
\n
• Deliver short-term crisis counseling to non-violent individuals facing acute mental health episodes, helping to stabilize their conditions and connect them to long-term treatment options.
\n
• Participate in joint responses with law enforcement during critical incidents, providing expert guidance and support when addressing mental health challenges in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role is on individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, particularly arrestees and vulnerable community members. You will be engaging with diverse populations, recognizing the unique challenges faced by each individual, and tailoring interventions to meet their specific needs, promoting stabilization and connection to further resources.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in counseling or a related field with a valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) designation.
