Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct on-site psychiatric evaluations in collaboration with law enforcement to assess the necessity for involuntary psychiatric evaluations under California’s 5150/5585 welfare and institutions code.

• Maintain strict confidentiality and meticulous documentation of patient records and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
\n
• Accompany law enforcement on critical mental health calls, providing expertise and support during emergency responses.
\n
• Effectively communicate with law enforcement, crisis stabilization units (CSU), hospitals, and psychiatrists to ensure seamless care transitions and responses.
\n
• Train police personnel on best practices for handling mental health encounters with arrestees, emphasizing techniques for de-escalation to reduce the use of force.
\n
• Provide immediate, short-term crisis counseling and support for non-violent individuals experiencing mental health episodes.
\n
• Assist in identifying appropriate mental health facilities and coordinating transportation for individuals in need of further intervention.

This role serves a diverse patient population, including individuals facing mental health crises, recent arrestees, and community members requiring immediate psychiatric assistance. Qualifications\n

• Must hold a valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license in the state of California.

Empathy Medical Healthcare offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 52,000 to 70,000 , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
